Katie Brandeburg
Whether you have been charmed by Katie Brandeburg in person or through her live shows, you will know there is much to be remembered about the pint-sized and fashionable singer/songwriter.Getting her start singing by the side of her father as a tot, Katie moved through episodes in musical theater and opera performance, before finally selling her soul to a guitar in her living room. She taught herself to play over the course of a few months, oftentimes spending eight plus hours a day with the guitar in her lap, headphones on her head and a laptop in front of her. As she started testing the waters with her new love, it wasn't long before she realized she wanted to spend her time as a songwriter. She made the transition to Provo, where she knew that the music scene would be beneficial.
Katie Brandeburg has been playing shows in Utah since 2007, enchanting audiences with her sweetly-tuned folksy ballads and quirky stage banter. You can listen to a few live recordings here, and look forward to a full album later this year.
THE SAME SEVEN QUESTIONS FOR KATIE BRANDEBURGWho or what inspires you?
The full spectrum of life, really. Friends, the world around me...
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Probably how sensitive I am to the people around me. I have this general loyalty to my friends, and when my little heart gets hurt I sometimes wish I were tougher skinned.
What makes you happy?Bright sun-shining days, bike rides, feeling the summer breeze in my face.
What is your greatest fear?
Well general failure is a factor, but my greatest fear is not being able to live the dreams I set out to live, not be able to the things I have always wanted to do.
What makes you laugh?I am pretty easy to make laugh...lately though, just being with my girlfriends. I love the funny little things people say and how others interpret them.
What are you listening to right now?
First Aid Kit, Laura Veirs, Miniature Tigers, Coconut Records, Girls...Lady Gaga.
What fictional character do you identify with most?
Oh, a Who from Whoville, because they live in their own world on a speck on a clover and are happy all the time!
