Cody Layton

You can go ahead and call Cody Layton (a.k.a. DJ Red Spectral) a lot of things. A construction management major making electro/ambient music, a 20 something prospective special education teacher all the way from Alabama, or a DJ who performs at various lounges and cafes.

Or you can just call him interesting. He is a musician/composer/artist who’s made plenty of lengthy mixes. He’s performed around Provo, where he is graduating from Brigham Young University next year in construction management, at various places like Spark Lounge, Dew restaurant, and Pennyroyal café (R.I.P.).

He makes music that doesn’t really fit into the traditional mold, its not verse chorus verse chorus verse chorus. It’s fluid, it’s longer than most songs, infused with sounds and quotes and it’s very much ambient. You can listen and download his work at redspectral.blogspot.com.
