Music - Tegan and Sara

Tegan and Sara are back and better than ever with their latest release “Sainthood.” The album’s got it all: raw emotions, great lyrics, catchy beats and those familiar vocals from everyone’s favorite indie sisters.

Back in high school, I discovered Tegan and Sara’s album “So Jealous” and loved everything about it. The twin sisters have a sound that’s all their own. However, over the past few years, the group kind of got lost in the tracks on my iPod, reoccurring on my playlist only now and again, and they even released an album before “Sainthood” that I haven’t even listened to yet. But for some reason I got really excited when I heard about this release a few weeks ago. And I wasn’t disappointed either.

“Sainthood” is a little heavier than “So Jealous” but still has the same Tegan and Sara feel to it. It’s got a few slower songs, but most of them are fast, upbeat tracks. The first time I heard “Hell,” the album’s first single, I probably listened to it five times in a row.

I highly recommend this album and any of the group’s other releases. I think I may go back and track down “The Con,” released in 2007, and see what I’ve been missing all these years.
